About us

Sue and Arno van Winden established Highland Valley Holiday Units in 1990 and have developed and expanded the business since to keep up to date with market trends and guests expectations.

Sue and Arno have vast experience in the tourism industry and are involved closely with the business and local community in Bright.   Sue is an active member of the Bright and District Chamber of Commerce and Arno is president of the Bright Autumn Festival committee.

Highland Valley provides holiday accommodation for couples and small families in four one/two bedroom units that are located in one acre of shady gardens ten minutes walk from the restaurants and shops of Bright and right on the Murray to Mountain Rail Trail.  In addition our rebranded luxury accommodation with spas and wood fires now called 'Alpine Valley Cottages' have two new miners cottages opened in February 2009.  See website www.alpinevalley.com.au for information on these one, two and three bedroom cottages.

Our tariffs include all facilities FREE with no more to pay – pool, playground, bikes, toboggans, fly fishing tuition, secure bike storage, laundry in each unit & BBQs.

Highland Valley is an established business in the tourism industry in Bright, members of the local chamber of commerce and Great Alpine Valleys Tourism.  We have been an accredited tourism business for many years and have AussieHost trained staff.
